Ceramics Open Studio
This open studio is for anyone age 10 and up. Your first day will be a introduction to working with clay and wheel safety. Glazing the projects on the second day.
If you have taken a class before and want to just work on your own it is $20 per session which includes clay. Glaze will be an extra $5 per piece.
Ceramic Bird Feeders
Tuesday Jan. 14, 6:30 – 8:30 PM - Ceramic Bird Feeders - $30
This simple but fun project involves using a slab technique to create a hanging bird feeder. The projects will be painted with underglaze and the finished project can be picked up at the gallery about a week later after it has been fired. No experience necessary. Children 10 and up are welcome. If you are experienced in ceramics, you can make a more complicated feeder. Hurry, space is limited.
Winter Birds in Oil Pastel
Thursday Jan. 23, 6:30 – 8:30 PM – Winter birds - $25
Come explore the use of oil pastels to create some pictures of birds in the snow. No experience is needed. We will teach you some very simple ways to create beautiful birds. Each participant will make three small drawings. All supplies included.
Calligraphy and Watercolor
Thursday Feb. 20, 6:30 – 8:30 – Calligraphy and Watercolor - $40
The word calligraphy means beautiful writing. However, it is more about drawing then handwriting. Learn some basic techniques of calligraphy and create an inspiring painting. Participants will select (or bring) a short quote to write out in calligraphy and we will use watercolors to paint the background with some simple colors or patterns. No experience needed. All supplies included.
Oil Painting for beginners
Sunday Feb. 9, 1 – 4 PM – Oil painting for Beginners - $45
We really mean beginners. Don’t be afraid to try it! Instructor Spencer Corbett will introduce the class to the basic use of oil paint and participants will create a simple landscape painting. Anyone can do it, we promise! All supplies provided.
