Remains: Latent Echoes
Now through February 27th
Lauren Brady's solo show in the Larson Exhibition Room celebrates the ethereal nature of her abstract paintings. Slabs of color are layered onto each other and scrawled into. Brady’s compositions are poetic and convey a rawness abstract work is so good at doing.
Included in the exhibition is shelving filled with jars, moss, small paintings, and other personal objects that act as a physical remnant of the past, reminding Brady (and the viewer) of past events, significant or mundane. The act of deciphering these objects and imbuing them with our own meaning is an act of artistry in and of itself.
